Trains and Treasures Tours around the world - for tourists and train enthusiasts The Geoff's Trains portfolio of railway tours includes a series of Trains and Treasures tours where interesting train rides link locations of great historic, cultural and scenic interest - a wonderful way to see a country on a well hosted, good value holiday. The 2010 Trains and Treasures season includes tours to Wales and England , Ireland and South Africa. Our tour to Zimbabwe includes steam charters that are ideal for Garratt enthusiasts, but each day also includes a hosted tourist option that makes it possible to decide how you would like to balance your train and tourist experience. The 2011 Trains and Treasures season will include a repeat of the successful Wales, Yorkshire and the Lakes tour in July. There will be another British tour in August, details will be available soon. Our southern African Trains and Treasures tour will feature a fascinating journey through South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Planned for September 2011, details will be available soon. For Steam Enthusiasts Trains are our passion, and we offer steam enthusiast tours especially designed for those who would like to travel with and photograph some of the world's best steam trains. Geoff is recognised as an Africa expert, and it is no co- incidence that his tours feature that continent. The focus in 2011 will be an African tour that will run in May and June. Included will be steam in Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. Garratt locomotives will be a highlight of the tour, but other types will not be ignored as we explore the best that Africa has to offer. The tour will start in Kenya on 19 May and end in South Africa on 11 June with a one week extension for those interested in modern traction.
